Community Futures Program is a Federal Government Initiative. It was established in 1986 to assist rural communities develop strategies for dealing with changing economic environments. The assumption is local decision making and local development are the most effective means for communities to shape their own futures
Our own CFDC began in 1988 and continues to develop local economic activity. Between 1990 to 2002 we have loaned $6.6 million to entrepreneurs, this has resulted in the creation and maintenance of 672 local jobs.
