Who said that a family business doesn't work? Darren Gaylard, a partner in Theden Forest Products Ltd. begs to differ.

Darren started with the first team of the SEA program in 1993, formed the partnership with his father in law and never looked back. "A partnership that was job creative, combining strengths and building a future for many," says Darren.
Feeling their way into the highly competitive market of secondary wood products the partners spent three years in narrowing the many products to one specialized one, wood flooring. "With hard work as a family team we are proud to specialize in Western Canadian Wood Flooring. Quality custom flooring made using only our local woods, fir, maple and alder, from rustic to wide plank styles.

"The SEA program was valuable with its education in business and its network of people at the same level of business. With the support of instructors with business education and/or experince we were equipped with the knowledge to keep going. Our largest achievement while in the SEA program was doing our cash flows and forecasting to build our own kiln".

So far, Theden Forest Products Ltd. Ltd. has been serving British Columbia customers.
Their custom wooden flooring graces homes on Savory Island, Whistler, Victoria and Vancouver. With the new 30,000 board feet kiln and the new Wienig molder Darren and his company will be able to take the next step of marketing across Canada and abroad.

In September 1997 Theden Forest Products Ltd. hired their first full time employee. They now have up to three employees working with them.
